One of the main functions of the Council is to standardise the training programmes for various categories of professionals and personnel to ensure quality services to people with disabilities. The Council keeps on modifying and revising the existing syllabus from time to time and adopts new training programmes incorporating new developments.
At present, the Council has 58 standardised training programmes developed with the help of respective expert committees constituted by the Council, which include programmes in the fields of clinical psychology, rehabilitation psychology, prosthetics and orthotics, speech and hearing, hearing impairment, visual impairment, intellectual and developmental disability, locomotor and cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, learning disability, rehabilitation therapy, vocational counselling and rehabilitation social work, community-based rehabilitation, and inclusive education.
